Item Estudo da vulnerabilidade de contaminação de aquífero por agrotóxicos, na região de Descalvado e Analândia(2009) Travanti, Débora Riva; Moura, Sarita de; Azevedo, Fabiana Zanquetta de; Travanti, Débora Riva; Moura, Sarita de; Azevedo, Fabiana Zanquetta de; Medvedchikoff, Tatiana Gakiya; Deus, Leonardo Rodrigues de; Moreira, Marco Antônio Albano; Lorandi, Reinaldo; Cançado, Cláudio Jorge; Martins, Maria Márcia RozalesThe use of pesticides in agriculture usually causes varying degrees of toxicological and environmental impacts on the soil, which may accumulate harmful levels of toxic elements and/or compounds. Underground water contamination occurs when pesticides percolate vertically through the ground. The degree of mobility of these pesticides depends on various factors, such as the type of soil, climate, geology, geomorphology, and the way in which the pesticides are applied. The study reported here involved an evaluation of these factors and the impact caused by the percolation of pesticides into aquifers. Geoprocessing techniques were then employed to draw up a risk vulnerability zoning map, on a 1:50.000 scale, of the region of Descalvado and Analândia in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
