Resumo
Este artigo objetiva refletir sobre o patrimônio histórico rural e sua relação com o turismo, a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre esses temas. Aborda brevemente o processo de construção do espaço rural brasileiro e as transformações do chamado novo rural, com suas adaptações através dos usos turísticos. Traz discussões referentes às definições de turismo em espaço rural e patrimônio, a questão da preservação e sua relação com o turismo, peculiaridades da história do café no Brasil e no Vale do Café fluminense, as construções arquitetônicas das fazendas, os usos e costumes dos Barões do Café. A pesquisa realizada é de natureza qualitativa, sendo as reflexões produzidas a partir de pesquisas bibliográficas. É importante ressaltar que a discussão relacionada à preservação do patrimônio rural através dos usos turísticos tem importância para a história do café no Brasil e para a
memória coletiva no país.
Abstract
This article reflects upon the subject of rural heritage and its relationship with tourism, based on a bibliographical review about these themes. It approaches briefly the process of construction of the Brazilian rural space and the transformations of the so called “new rural”, with its adaptations to tourist uses. It brings discussions about the definitions of tourism in rural space and heritage, the issue of preservation and its relationship with tourism, specificities of the history of coffee in Brazil and in the fluminense Coffee Valley, the architecture of the farms, the uses and costumes of the coffee‟s barons. The research undertaken is qualitative in nature, and the reflections produced were accomplished out of bibliographical review. It is important to stress that the discussion related to the preservation of rural heritage through tourist uses has relevance to the history of coffee in Brazil and to collective memory in this country.
