dc.description.abstractEste artigo teórico-empírico destina-se a analisar as formas alternativas de produção social da habitação em Belo Horizonte. O argumento analítico do trabalho aponta para as práticas autogestionárias de provisão da moradia nos espaços periféricos das cidades brasileiras que podem constituir uma ampliação das formas de acesso à habitação e uma alternativa de democratização da cidade, no contexto de nossa realidade de exclusão e informalidade. Tendo em vista contextualizar as formas alternativas de produção social da moradia enfoca-se o período recente da política urbana, a partir de 2001, ano de promulgação do Estatuto das Cidades. No caso de Belo Horizonte, abordam-se as novas ocupações buscando mapeá-las e caracterizá-las, recorrendo a estratégias qualitativas de pesquisa. O trabalho integra uma pesquisa em desenvolvimento que analisa os movimentos sociais e seu papel em relação às políticas urbanas.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractenThis theoretical-empirical article aims to analyze the alternative forms of social production of housing in Belo Horizonte. The analytical argument of the work points to the self-managed practices of housing provision in the peripheral spaces of Brazilian cities that can constitute an extension of the forms of access to housing and an alternative of democratization of the city, in the context of our reality of exclusion and informality. In order to contextualize the alternative forms of housing's social production, the recent urban policy period is focused from 2001, year of the Statute of Cities' promulgation. In the case of Belo Horizonte, the new occupations are addressed, seeking to map and characterize them, using qualitative research strategies. The work integrates a research in development that analyzes the social movements and their role in relation to the urban policies.pt_BR
