The guiding thread of the research is the ongoing process of expansion of professional education in Minas Gerais in 2024 through the Trilhas de Futuro program. The study is descriptive in nature and utilized both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to analyze the research object through bibliographic research and document analysis. To analyze the context of the public policy in Minas Gerais, the study starts with the theoretical reconstruction of the relationships between capitalist production systems and the conceptions of the State and public policies aimed at work training to understand the principles that guided the reforms implemented in Brazil in the first decades of the 21st century. Next, it seeks to reconstruct the trajectory of the foundational policies for the expansion of professional education at the federal and state levels to investigate the interests in dispute and the power correlations in society that acted to advance the agendas during the analyzed period. Thus, the background that gives meaning to the emergence of Trilhas de Futuro in 2021 is outlined. The analysis of its constitutive elements and its evolution reveals the program's protagonism and uniqueness in accelerating the process of expanding professional education in Minas Gerais. Beyond the expansion of supply, the results point to the transfer of public resources and decision-making power to the private sphere, the expansion of a professional education market, and raise discussions about the quality of the education offered, as well as the alignment of the supply with the priorities established by the State Department of Education of Minas Gerais. It concludes that, despite its relevance, there is a need to improve various dimensions of its design to strengthen the program's legitimacy and impact.Item Programa Trilhas de Futuro de Minas Gerais e o acesso à educação profissional : uma análise preliminar(2023) Mesquita, Lavínia Paiva; Costa, Bruno Lazzarotti Diniz; Costa, Bruno Lazzarotti Diniz; Souza, Luisa de Marilac; Dufloth, Simone CristinaEste estudo apresenta um breve histórico do ensino profissional no Brasil e em Minas Gerais, pontuando também as principais políticas públicas que foram implementadas pelo poder público nas últimas décadas. Discute-se a questão do ingresso, conclusão e evasão escolar, buscando entender como as desigualdades sociais afetam a educação no Brasil. A discussão destes três fenômenos foi baseada no ideal de acesso enquanto a possibilidade de ingressar e concluir com sucesso as etapas da educação. Posteriormente, analisa-se o Programa Trilhas de Futuro, que foi estabelecido pelo governo estadual mineiro em 2021. Este programa disponibiliza gratuitamente, cursos técnicos de formação profissional para estudantes e egressos do ensino médio, em instituições públicas e privadas. O estudo apresenta resultados de uma análise preliminar relativa ao Trilhas 1, primeiro ano do programa, iniciado em 2021. Em seguida, mostra-se, com base em dados estatísticos, o perfil de ingressantes, evadidos e concluintes no Trilhas 1, indicando como as desigualdades sociais e espaciais incidiram sobre os diferentes grupos sociais.
